MONMOUTH Festival, G?yl Trefynwy, is one of the biggest and best free music festivals in the UK, with the nine-day event kicking off tomorrow and headlined on Saturday night by the award-winning Seth Lakeman.
A celebration of the town and its community, and a chance to see local and national musicians from rock, classical, pop, folk, jazz, ska, punk, world music and beyond, the extensive line-up also features Leddra Chapman, and winners of this year's Monmouth's Got Talent, Crochez Moi. Nine nights of music also include The Pontypridd Male Voice Choir and the Monmouth Festival Ensemble in St Mary's Church with gigs, including an appearance by Benji Kirkpatrick, a member of the hugely popular 11-piece band Bellowhead, at the Three Horseshoes, where there'll be music every night of the festival.
With Monmouth's first busking festival on Saturday and the carnival taking to the streets on Sunday, Monmouth festival offers a wealth of entertainment.
