A NEW competition has been launched by Malvern Theatres offering writers the chance to win the opportunity to read their own short stories on stage in front of a live audience.
The competition, As You Read It, is open to writers aged 16 years and over, who are invited to submit a short story, which is completely original, unpublished and entirely their own work. A panel of judges will then choose eight short stories which will be read at Malvern Theatres on the evening of November 10 by their authors. When the story is read out loud it must be approximately 10 minutes in length.
Application forms are available from the box office, or by emailing education@malvern-theatres.co.uk.
To apply by post, three copies of your short story should be submitted accompanied by an application form no later than October 7. Alternatively email the application form and story to education@ malvern-theatres.co.uk. If you are successful, you must be available to rehearse on November 9 and 10, and for the evening performance on November 10. Full terms and conditions are outlined on the application form.
