PUPILS at Bredenbury Primary School stepped back in time to experience life in the classroom during Victorian times.
The inspiration for years three and four children, as head teacher Dawn Wilson explained, was the Barneby family, wealthy benefactors of Bredenbury, who founded the school in 1870. The Barneby family lived in what is now St Richard's School.
Pupils did some digging with their class teachers - Mrs Wilson and Jodie Betheridge into the past and learned the family financed the building of St Andrew's chapel in the village, as well as the school.
