A LUCKY cat had "paws" for celebration after becoming the unwitting winner of a charity raffle in Leominster.
Mottey, the tortoiseshell feline, who lives with owner Sarah Burgoyne at the Marshpool's Country Inn near Weobley, won a giant Easter Egg in the annual raffle organised by the towns' Lions Club.
But generous Sarah thought it would be a purrfect idea to donate the prize to the Acorns Children's Hospice.
"When Mottey's ticket was pulled out as the winner of the giant egg, we, or rather she, thought it would be a lovely gesture to donate it to the hospice," she said.
"I will treating Mottey with a tin of salmon in return!"
The Lions Club raffle raised around £45, with profits going to local charities.
Acorns - which operates around the Midlands - provides life-limited children and their families with a network of care services and counselling.
