Vintage rally motors ahead

THE annual Teme Valley Vintage Rally by the Knighton-based club took place at Llanshay Farm last weekend. There were lots of vintage vehicles including tractors, cars, Land Rovers, motorbikes as well as static engines. The Animal Man returned to the event after a year's break and entertained everyone with his selection of lizards, snakes, a rat, chinchilla, hedgehog, spiders and other creatures. There was also a chance to watch the ferret racing and the Welsh Axe racing team, a display of old farm tools, dog show and much more.

Results of the dog show were: Best Puppy Diane Gough with Bonny, 2nd Asha Williams with Lola and 3rd Jack Watkins with Tiny; Best Sporting Dog 1st Zoe Penlington with Tikka, 2nd Gwen Williams with Bella, 3rd Ivor Watkins with Tommy; The Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take home 1st Fay Davies with Fergie, 2nd Sally Gough with Bonny, 3rd Nerys Jones with Jac; Best Terrier 1st Ivor Watkins with Tommy, 2nd Jack Watkins with Tiny; Best Crossbred 1st Gwen Williams with Bella, 2nd Asha Williams with Lola; Dog with the Waggiest Tail 1st Asha Williams with Lola, 2nd Nick Davies with Fergie, 3rd Jack Watkins with Tommy; Best Child Handler Jack Watkins with Tiny; Best Six Legs 1st Gwen Williams with Bella, 2nd Jack Watkins with Tiny, 3rd Nerys Jones with Jac; Open Winner Heather Brick with Sky, 2nd Caroline Penlington with Tikka, 3rd Nerys Jones with Jac. Dog Show Champion Heather Brick with Sky, 2nd Ivor Watkins with Tommy. The judge Jo Dowsett travelled all the way from Formby.
