SOME of Hereford United's players and staff have been paid their outstanding wages.

Some players and staff have taken to Twitter to confirm payments have landed in their bank accounts.

But in some cases, players and staff have not been paid the full amount they claim they are owed.

The Hereford Times understands that football creditors must be paid today to ensure the club's Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) proposal can go through smoothly.

United are due in the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Monday to defend a winding-up petition and present a CVA proposal.

The payment of football creditors to allow competitive football to be played at Edgar Street is vital to the proposal, the Hereford Times understands.

Southern League secretary Jason Mills says he "cannot confirm or deny" whether the league will accept Hereford in its Premier Division next season if payments are still outstanding after today.

He added that the league will be issuing a statement in due course.

However, the Hereford Times understands the league had told the club to pay their football creditors earlier this week.

The Hereford Times understands the Southern League have NOT issued the club with a deadline of today to pay outstanding football creditors.

The Football Association are monitoring the situation.

Hereford are due to play Conference North outfit Droylsden tomorrow.

The Southern League season starts on Saturday, August 9, but at this stage, United cannot play their home games at Edgar Street due to the relevant safety documentation not being in place.

However, United advisor Joel Nathan says he is confident the ground will be passed fit and ready for football on the opening day of the season.
