BBC Gardeners' World Monty Don told of his time in Herefordshire as he hosted a one-off event.

His talk at Hereford Courtyard on Saturday (October 29) was a sold-out event.

The audience heard him share his passion for gardens and the unique role they play in human inspiration and wellbeing.

Monty Don has been making television programmes for over 30 years and has been lead presenter of the BBC's Gardener's World since 2003.

Since 2011 the programme has come from his own garden, Longmeadow, in Herefordshire.

"Thanks, you to those of you who came along last night to Hereford Courtyard theatre," he said in a tweet after the event.

"I enjoyed it - hope you did too. Next stop the New Theatre in Oxford on Tuesday evening."

In reply people who watched the show said it was "enjoyable", "fascinating", "wonderful", and "inspiring".
