A POPULAR pub near Hereford is reopening today (October 25).

The Secret Garden, situated off Coldwells Road, is now in the hands of the Wobbly Taphouse, a brewery company whose headquarters is in Beech Business Park.

The pub will be open all day from midday to 11pm Tuesdays to Sundays, with a brand new menu available.

The reopening of the pub comes after the company behind it - Secret Garden (Hereford) Ltd went into liquidation last year.

However, Dan and Vicky Weager, who held the lease at the time, said at the time that all future bookings and events were safe as a third party was now involved in running the pub.

Andy Hughes managing director at Wobbly Brewing Company Ltd, said that the firm will be aiming to build on the success of the Weagers.

"We continue to look at outlets," he said.

"The Secret Garden came up and we were able to take over the lease of it.

"Our beers are liked and enjoyed by an increasing amount of people.

"Our theme will be good value country pub food that is made fresh. It will be family-welcoming and good value for money.

"We have the advantage of our brewery being up the road, with pints costing from £3.80."

Its annual fireworks display - which regularly attracts plenty of people - will also be going ahead on Bonfire Night (November 5).

A BBQ will be available for people to buy on the night, with fireworks going off at 6.30pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £2 for under-16s. However, they have soon sold out in previous years, so people are being asked to be quick to secure their place.

It is the second new place that the Wobbly Brewing Company has recently opened.

Last month, the company welcomed people to Pre, a café and bar that is in Maylord Orchards, Hereford.
