A HEREFORD pub has told customers it is"well and truly here to stay" after the company behind it went into liquidation.

Secret Garden (Hereford) Ltd has gone into voluntary liquidation, with liquidators appointed to wind up the company.

The company, behind the Secret Garden pub in Coldwells Road, Holmer, posted a notice on the public record site The Gazette said that Brett Lee Barton of BLB Advisory, Rotherwas, had been appointed as liquidator to wind up the company.

In a joint statement, directors Dan Weager and Vicky Weager said all future bookings and events are safe as a third party was now involved in running the pub.

The pair said the hospitality industry took a "heavy blow" due to the Covid pandemic which has "put companies under great strain".

A third party is now "operating within the pub" to "ensure the safety of the pub to the community and all its members of staff".

On a post on its Facebook page, the pub said: "We wanted to let all our past and present customers know that it’s business as usual. All future bookings are safe and secure."

It said a new head chef has joined and a new food and cocktail menu is launching next week (November 16).

On the outskirts of Hereford city centre, Secret Garden describes itself on its website as a relaxed country pub with great food and a roaring fire.

The pub was known for many years as the Rose Gardens, then as the Rosie, before Dan and Vicky Weager reopened it in 2018.
