Herefordshire's favourite drink is to be celebrated with special tours this autumn.

Award winning, global cider expert, Gabe Cook, also known as the Ciderologist, has announced a weekend of Herefordshire cider tours for October.

According to organisers these guided cider tours will take participants on a voyage to three of Herefordshire's finest cider makers right in the heart of the season.

Home to the largest area of cider apple orchards, and greatest volume of cider produced anywhere in the world, Herefordshire is known for its cider heritage and for its award winning small makers.

On the weekend of Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16, Mr Cook will personally lead the group on a minibus tour of some of the county’s finest orchards.

On the Saturday, the tour heads to the north of the county to visit Oliver’s Cider of Hereford, Leominster's Newton Court, and Little Pomona in Bromyard.

Then on Sunday the tour will head to the East and South to visit Wilce’s and Lyne Down in Ledbury, and the Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry Company.

Mr Cook said: "I can’t wait to share with people the wondrous story of Herefordshire cider, as well as meeting the makers and tasting their amazing products."

"We will have the opportunity to taste straight from the barrel and I will bring a few special bottles of cider from my archive to sample too."
