THERE will be two new trails in Hereford city centre this autumn to celebrate apples.

Hereford City Life said it was excited to share details of its two brand new city centre trails as part of the upcoming Hereford AppleFest.

Designed to showcase the fruit and encourage visitors to learn about Hereford’s connection to the apple, the group said the two free trails would a great introduction to Hereford AppleFest.

Hosted on the city’s place promotion app, LoyalFree, the trails will encompass the festival dates, launching on September 20 and ending on October 17.

“Hereford AppleFest is an incredible celebration of our city’s long-standing connection to the apple and we are proud to be able to contribute to this event,” Rhiannon Burns, Hereford City Life marketing manager said.

"We know these two trails will really add to the celebrations, sharing Hereford’s heritage with foodies and families alike.”

The Amazing Apples Trail

This interactive trail will take families on an easy tour of the city to discover amazing apple facts displayed in the windows of local businesses.

There are 10 locations to discover and a prize to collect once all facts have been found.

The Hereford Loves Apples Trail

This trail is said to be the perfect guide for foodies looking to uncover the very best apple produce in Hereford. From local ciders to pork and apple sausages, there will be plenty to discover.

Even better, many of the featured locations are offering samples, discounts and more to help you appreciate the apple.

Hereford AppleFest is organised by Hereford City Council in partnership with Hereford City Life, Herefordshire Council, Big Apple Harvestime, the Campaign for Real Ale, Hereford Cathedral, Encore Enterprises, Hereford College of Arts, Little Pomona Orchard and Cidery, Museum of Cider and Rural Media.
