A THIEF has been sentenced by magistrates after stealing wine and cheese from shops in Herefordshire.
Michael Mason pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a shop when he appeared before Hereford magistrates at a hearing last month.
The court heard from prosecutor Camila Toscano that the 57-year-old had stolen two bottles of wine worth £13 from Sainsbury’s supermarket in Ross-on-Wye on December 28 last year.
He also took five packets of cheese worth £19.95 from Euro Garages on January 29.
The Euro Garage shop in Ledbury Road has now been taken over by an Asda Express, with the rebrand taking place earlier this year.
