A CHARMING former chapel is up for sale in one Herefordshire hamlet.

The detached Victorian former chapel is on the market with agents Jackson Property and will be sold by informal tender.

The chapel, in Upper Hill, is just four miles from Leominster and within easy reach of Hereford.

The agents said the sale offers a "rare opportunity" for prospective buyers to acquire a "delightful chapel" in a popular area.

The building will be sold freehold and is understood to have an electricity connection, while a water connection may be available in the road, the agents said.

The possibility of converting the chapel into a house has not been explored and any interested parties are advised to make their own enquiries to the planning department in this regard.

Some works will be needed regardless of the buyer's plans for the building, with the agents warning viewers of an unstable suspended floor.

Covenants are in place, with the manufacture, distribution, sale or supply of intoxicating liquors, and gambling and use a public dance hall banned.

The chapel is also not to be used for religious purposes, the agents said.

The chapel will be sold by informal tender, with all offers to be put forward to the selling agent in writing, outlining the offer amount and proof of funding, by midday on June 21. All bids must be in writing and emailed to leominster@bill-jackson.co.uk
