A BMW driver was three times the drug-drive limit on cocaine when he was behind the wheel, Hereford Magistrates’ Court has heard.

Waseem Waheb was driving a BMW X3 in Redditch, Worcestershire, on September 27 last year when he was caught out with drugs in his system.

This is an offence under section five A of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and schedule two of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

The defendant was said to have been caught in Beoley Road, according to prosecutor Owen Beale.

The court heard from the prosecutor that the 41-year-old had over 32 microgrammes (mg) of cocaine in his blood, when the legal limit is 10 mg.

Waheb, of Rookery Park, Brierley Hill, who pleaded guilty at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on May 15, has been disqualified from driving for three years and fined £346 for the offence.

He must also pay prosecution costs of £85.
