SIR Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour party, has visited Hereford ahead of the 2024 general election.
Sir Keir arrived at Hereford Railway Station by train at around 4.30pm today (May 29). The Hereford Times understands he met with the chair of the Hereford and South Herefordshire Constituency Labour Party, Paul Dawson, while he was in the city.
Sir Keir has been campaigning around the country ahead of the election on July 4, which was called by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last week.
Yesterday (May 28), the Labour Party announced its prospective parliamentary candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire, Joe Emmett.
Standing for North Herefordshire is Jon Browning.

The Labour candidates will face Conservatives Jesse Norman and Sir Bill Wiggin in South and North Herefordshire respectively.
Sir Keir, meanwhile, is on the campaign trail on a national level, and last week was elsewhere in the West Midlands speaking to voters.
The exact reason for his visit to Hereford today, or whether he just passed through via train, has not been confirmed.
