HEAVY rain flooded a Hereford cycle lane.

Stormy weather caused surface water in many areas of the city on Thursday (March 28), and it seems the cycle lane in St Owen Street did not escape.

In a video taken by Mal Williams, plenty of water can be seen, with it running into the Tattoo Parlour shop.

Mal Williams, who took a video of the flood said: "Every time it rains, since they've done this cycle path, it floods.

The St Owen Street cycleway project, which came into force last year, saw Herefordshire Council spend more than £1 million on the route - exceeding the original budget by hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The weather was much better yesterday (March 29); however, there was a spell of heavy rain in the afternoon.

The Environment Agency still has two flood alerts in place for Herefordshire. This is for the river Leadon catchment and the river Lugg south of Leominster.
