FIREFIGHTERS were called to a major blaze in Herefordshire this morning.

Four crews were called out to a building fire near Hereford at 3.37am today (July 31).

A lean-to laundry building at a hotel in Lugwardine was found to be fully ablaze.

Two crews from Hereford Fire Station were joined by colleagues from Fownhope and Ross-on-Wye as well as the incident command unit from Ledbury.

All people were accounted for and there were no casualties.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and four hose reel jets tackled the fire.

Cutting away and dampening down was used to extinguish the flames.

Relief crews from Hereford and Worcester joined to help with the incident before a thermal imaging camera identified no hot spots.

The final crew left the scene at 11.04am before returning during the afternoon for a reinspection.

The incident was marked as pending closure at 3.09pm.
