The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Melanie Winterflood that the 32-year-old had, without lawful excuse, intentionally or recklessly damaged an iPad worth £450 and belonging to another person in Hereford between July 1 and 31 last year.
Gummery, of Bath Street, Hereford, was ordered to pay compensation of £450 to the iPad's owner, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.
He was not ordered to pay prosecution costs or a victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
