THE "flamboyant" owner of one of Herefordshire's biggest bus companies has died, the firm has said.

DRM Bus, based in Bromyard, said it was with great sadness it announced the death of its owner David Morris.

The firm said he will be missed by so many, with Mr Morris a popular and well-liked member of the Bromyard community.

The firm, which runs services in Hereford, Bromyard and Ledbury said it was sending condolences to all of Mr Morris's family and friends.

It said Mr Morris's wish was for business to continue as usual until further notice.

On the firm's website, it said Mr Morris had a history in and early experience of bus and coach operation, so it was only natural that he would want to form and run his own business.

This came about in 1984 when he set up under the operating name of DRM Coaches.

Originally, the firm had a mix of coach, local bus and contract work but in the 1990s he decided to pull out of the coach business and concentrate on the development of local bus services.

The website said that Mr Morris did this with considerable success and entered into the upper echelons of the bus industry with his "distinctive, often flamboyant and nearly always outspoken style".
