A HEREFORDSHIRE company offering luxury holiday lets is seeking permission to add to its accommodation.

Planning permission is sought for the building of two lodges (one for holiday accommodation, the other for manager’s accommodation), two caravans for holiday use, a workshop for storage of maintenance equipment and a change of use of an existing building to a reception area at Oasis Lodges in Aylton near Ledbury.

The existing business consists of four Nordic style luxury lodges with gymnasium, spa and natural swimming pool all set within extensively landscaped and maintained grounds.

According to the planning statement, the applicants now seek to further diversify the business and also make provision for its continued management and upkeep through the addition of a manager’s lodge, reception and workshop.

The application said that the scale of the development is "entirely appropriate" and is in keeping with the character of the local area.

It has been recommended for approval on the grounds that it will bring social and economic benefits to the area through greater employment during and after its construction.

The panel also stated that scheme represents sensitive development that will not affect the visual look of the site or its immediate surroundings.

Consultation on the project has begun and will end on Tuesday, September 6.
