"The tables are quite wide apart so no problem social distancing in these difficult times. The menu is brought to your table on a chalk board and the only issue is that you have to ask for the prices of the individual dishes. We shared a starter and desert and along with two main and drinks it came to £40 a head with tip , which was completely reasonable for the quality of the food and the level of service we received. "Would definitely recommend this one."

10. The Cedar Tree

Tenth is fine dining restaurant The Cedar Tree at Glewstone's historic Glewstone Court country house, with 312 of 340 rating it excellent or very good.

"We heard that the new chef was excellent and yet the meal still exceeded our expectations. The scallop ceviche was sublime and superbly complemented by the jalapeno sorbet. My wife and I shared a Chateaubriand, possibly the best I have ever tasted, perfectly cooked. Usually I do not order dessert but the first two courses were so good I opted for the cheesecake which rounded off a perfect meal and I speak for all four of us.

"Service from Sam and his team was outstanding and we felt completely safe at all times. Well done and full marks to the team and I look forward to returning very soon."
