EATERIES in Hereford's independent quarter dominate the list in Tripadvisor's best-rated restaurants in Hereford.
With 134 Hereford restaurants, pubs and cafes reviewed on the site, we have taken a look at the top ten, as reviewed by Tripadvisor users.
Taking the top spot is Church Street's Rocket Cafe, with 262 of their 270 reviewers rating the eatery as excellent or very good.
"Gorgeousness - great food, good people," wrote Rebeccarascal.
"Always a safe bet when wanting something wholesome and well made - I just wish it was bigger as we can't always get in! Love the fact that there are vegan choices and flatbreads for the kids, keep it up guys!"
Coming in at second is King Street Kitchen, with 215 of its 226 reviews either excellent or very good.
"Had a lovely lunch here when they opened the seating area again. Really accommodating and patient with my little boys. Lovely food, wouldn’t expect any less. Great to be back! Thank you!!" wrote Becky A.
In third place is Mediterrane Restaurant on Red Barn Drive, with 261 of its 277 reviewers rating the Mediterranean food on offer as excellent or very good, despite the unassuming exterior.
"First class restaurant,"wrote Steveratojay.
"The owner and chef Ali has created a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The food is top quality and very reasonably priced. You take your own drink which is great as the drinks bill can often be more than the food bill in most restaurants/chains. Highly recommend."

In fourth place is Italian restaurant Ponte Vecchio in Bridge Street, where 309 out of 351 reviewers said their experience was excellent or very good.
Solbaglil wrote: "Absolutely superb. Staff adhere to Covid restrictions. All courses were delicious, high quality ingredients, very friendly staff. Dessert was the highlight but all food was excellent. 5 stars plus."
Coming in at fifth is SimplyThai.Kitchen in Widemarsh Street, with 277 of 294 reviewers rating their Thai cuisine as excellent or very good.
"Had several meals from here, with the Covid virus making only take away possible. The food is extremely tasty, good quantity, and very friendly staff," wrote Johnwebley.
In sixth is La Madeleine in Church Street, with 364 of its 394 reviewers rating it as excellent or very good.
Reviewers praised the relaxed atmosphere and food 'cooked to perfection'.
"Amazing little place," wrote danb7349LB.
"A little secret in Hereford: had a two course meal in the afternoon and evening was amazing food and wine. Will be coming back."
7. Burger fans are likely to be unsurprised at number seven on the list, Hereford's Beefy Boys restaurant's rating, with 1,199 of the 1,362 visitors who took to Tripadvisor to share their experience rating it as excellent or very good.
Reviewer Gemma C was among those to praise the 'amazing burgers' on offer at the Old Market-based business.
"My husband and I had amazing food here on our visit. I don't eat meat and the beanie boy burger was delicious. It's also really good you can swap a meat patty for a vegetarian one for some of the burgers which i did. Service was good and staff were lovely. Would definitely go back on my next trip to Hereford," she wrote.
Number eight is The Meze, with 95 of its 97 reviews either excellent or very good.
Now based in West Street after starting as a fledgling business at the Butter Market, The Meze's Turkish fare hit the right notes for visitors.
"Visited The Meze more by chance after getting my days wrong with a booking elsewhere," wrote Imowales.
"Initially I was a bit dubious - the lighting was a little bright and it had more of a ‘lunchtime cafe’ feel than for romantic meal.
"When the food arrived, all that was forgotten though! We shared a platter and every part was delicious! The food was excellent quality.
"I was disappointed to be too full up when we were offered more flatbread.

At number nine is The Stables pub on West Street, with 178 of 201 visitors rating it excellent or very good.
"My friends and I were in Hereford for the week so decided to visit a local hostelry," wrote PatriciaofOrton.
"What a wonderful surprise was in store. Only just under new management but the food, although on limited menu due to Covid, was to die for!
"Recommend heartily chilli, my friend loved it!
"Other friend had steak which she thoroughly enjoyed, and my chick-pea and spinach curry was simply heavenly. Delicious and extremely tasty.
"All accompaniments were first class quality. Don’t be put off by decor... it’s unique and they have only just begun but staff and owner happy to please, obliging and friendly!

Coming in at 10th place is another Church Street establishment: the Lichfield Vaults.
Serving a Greek-inspired menu alongside real ales, ciders and more, the pub was rated as excellent or very good by 287 of 318 Tripadvisor users.
"Spur of the moment visit to Hereford, looking for a place for some food that allow dogs," wrote 552StevenW.
"Stumbled across The Lichfield Vaults, lovely place, landlord very pleasant and polite.
"Plenty of real ales to go at. We had the Greek Meze sharing platter for two.
"Well presented fresh Greek salad, and meatballs were excellent.
"Nice friendly place, definitely worth a visit. We would definitely return here."
