Hereford Times:

1. The Inn at Bromyard

With 241 of its 273 reviewers rating it either excellent or very good, The Inn at Bromyard, a stunning black and white venue in the town's High Street, takes the top spot on Tripadvisor.

"Mark and Louise are definitely the hosts with the most - personality, service and nothing was too much trouble," wrote Signingstar.

"The food was amazing, local produce cooked to perfection and you certainly won't go hungry with the size of the portions, all reasonably priced too. The atmosphere in the pub was relaxed and cosy and the bedrooms quaint and full of character. We enjoyed our stay so much we've booked to return again in a couple of weeks."

Hereford Times:

2. The Live and Let Live

Set in the beautiful scenery of Bringsty Common, The Live and Let Live takes second place, with 280 of 367 Tripadvisor reviewers rating it excellent or very good.

Patch R wrote: "Had a fantastic tasty dinner here. Staff were all lovely and bubbly. Food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. Pub was full of locals. Super friendly place. Really nice cool decor which is not trying to hard. Highly recommend a visit to this little gem."

Hereford Times:

3. Flavours Bromyard

Another High Street eatery, Flavours Bromyard is third, with 147 of 166 rating the Indian fare on offer as excellent or very good.

"We love this Indian restaurant," wrote theflamingoes.

"We have visited here many times before lockdown and recently had takeaway. The food can't be faulted. My husband and I both love the chicken tikka garlic balti and the vegetable pilau rice. Highly recommended!"

Hereford Times:

4. Foxy's Steak Bar

In fourth is Foxy's Steak Bar, also on High Street, with 93 of its 106 reviewers rating it excellent or very good.

"I went with my sister to Foxy's after hearing her rave about it," BdaJayme wrote.

"Well, was not disappointed. The food was delish and we were not hurried out of the restaurant. As previous commentators have mentioned the chips are proper chips cooked in lard and not vegetable oil. They were hot and delish, the steaks were melt in your mouth. Would recommend all steak lovers in the area to go here. Hereford beef, nothing like it."

Hereford Times:

5. Oaklands Cafe Deli

Taking fifth place is Broad Street's Oaklands Cafe Deli, with 38 of its 40 reviewers rating it either excellent or very good.

"I chose this cafe as a result of its excellent reviews on Tripadvisor," wrote Kate A.

"It is opposite my mother's house in Bromyard and she was unaware of its existence - a situation now remedied. The venue itself is lovely; a fusion of old building and modern decor. I was with a party of four friends [and my mother], all of whom are afternoon tea devotees. We have sampled them in Henley-on-Thames, various National Trust properties, Chatsworth, Blenheim Palace, Broadstairs and, let me tell you, this one was superlative: the sandwiches were bouncy with freshness, the scones light and fruity, the brownies stuffed with chocolate chunks and the 8" high cream and strawberry sponge cake a marvel. And all this, including tea, for £10. Oh, and the owner and staff were lovely too."

Hereford Times:

6. Mahis Indian Restaurant

Number six is Mahis in Bromyard's High Street. An impressive 107 of its 118 Tripadvisor reviewers rated it as either excellent or very good.

"We eat in or buy takeaways from Mahis at least once a week and have never been disappointed," wrote MicklethwaiteMiss.

"The staff are always friendly and welcoming and know many of their customers by name. The food is delicious and authentic with a good variety on their menu and we often have a little extra popped in as a treat. Mahis is by far our favourite local Indian restaurant."

Hereford Times:

7. Green Cow Kitchens

Due to reopen to customers on October 3, Green Cow Kitchens in Whitbourne is next on the list.

"Had a superb meal here with my wife a few weeks ago," wrote JonP59.

"Annoyingly even though we are local we have only just got around to visiting - but we will be making up for it in the coming months! There a plenty of reviews on here that describe the food in detail so I won't drone on, but suffice to say it's excellent. The quality of the food, ingredients and cooking was just superb. The service is great - attentive but not overbearing. Can't recommend it highly enough. Go, and if in doubt, then go !

Hereford Times:

8. The Falcon Hotel

Housed in an imposing black and white Tudor building in Broad Street, 57 of 75 reviewers on Tripadvisor rated Bromyard's Falcon Hotel as excellent or very good.

"As a party of four (hubby and I and our two friends), we have now been to The Falcon Hotel for a meal three times in the last few weeks, twice for Sunday lunch and once for an evening meal during ‘Eat Out to Help Out’," wrote Tallheels.

"Our meals have all been superb and the desserts ‘to die for’ (try the chocolate cherry bakewell tart with clotted cream and the chocolate and peanut butter tart with clotted cream and raspberry coulis - heaven!). I cannot recommend The Falcon Hotel enough for the quality of its food and John and his staff are wonderful ambassadors for this unique piece of Bromyard history. Nothing is too much trouble for them and a chat with John is an education in itself. Needless to say we have another Sunday lunch booked next weekend!!"

Hereford Times:

9. The Plough Inn

Stoke Lacy's Plough Inn is next, with 77 of its 86 reviewers rating it excellent or very good.

"We went to The Plough for our first meal out since lockdown in March," wrote 970BillM970.

"The Plough feels very safe and has a reassuring amount of Covid advice with sanitiser on entry, Phil taking names and phone numbers and cleaning tables after every guest. Really good to see Simon again as always we had a friendly welcome and the food was as good as it always has been. I recommend the pulled pork and macaroni cheese as a starter. Inspirational!"

Hereford Times:

10. Cafe on the Corner

Located in Bromyard's Market Square, Cafe on the Corner received 37 excellent or very good reviews out of 41.

"Decided to vary my usual diet of medium breakfast (scrummy, but really quite large!), so went for the cafe's invention of breakfast in a bap, otherwise known as the Bromyard Brunch Bap (c)," wrote Rovingpublover.

"Two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two hash browns and a fried egg in a large buttered bap. Absolutely heavenly! Served as ever with friendly courtesy."
