HEREFORD manager Josh Gowling is expecting a tough game against a good footballing side tomorrow when Curzon Ashton visit Edgar Street.

The Bulls saw their five-league game winning run brought to an abrupt end at Southport last weekend and will hope to return to winning ways ahead of the festive period.

They face a Curzon Ashton side who sit level on points with the Bulls but are without a win in four league games and have lost their last two.

Despite Curzon’s recent league form Gowling is expecting a tough test at Edgar Street on Saturday.

“Let’s be realistic about it, before our run if could win five and lose won you would take that,” said Gowling.

“We’ve been on an excellent run. For me it’s a little blip and we’ve got to kick back into gear now at home against Curzon (Ashton) who are a good side.

“Many are surprised at the start they have had (Curzon). The ex-Farsley manager has gone over there now.

“He has had some success at Farsley for many years and he’s gone in there and kept the momentum going.

“They are in and around the shouts for a play-off place and are doing really well. We’ve got to be on our mettle. They like to get the ball down and play good football so we’ve got to take sure we don’t give them too much space.

“They’ve got some good technical players and like to play football in the right way and teams like that win a lot more games than they lose that’s for sure.

“You’d like to think it will be a good footballing game. We’ll see how expansive they are away from home. They’ve got really good away form, sit back into their shape well when they lose possession and are very organised in and out of possession.

“They will be one of the better sides that visit us this season, it’s going to be a really tough game.”

Meanwhile, Miles Storey has been in training and pushing for a place in the starting 11.

After Hereford’s defeat at Southport last weekend Gowling hinted that he could make changes to the starting side due to players making mistakes in the 2-0 defeat.
