HEREFORD manager Josh Gowling praised the character of his side after they won 1-0 at York City.
The Bulls had six players out injured with new loanee defender Reiss McNally making his debut despite never having trained with the squad.
Hereford defender resolutely with goalkeeper Brandon Hall making two key saves and then denying Clayton Donaldson from the penalty spot.

Tom Owen-Evans won it for the Bulls capitalising it on the 82nd mistake before sliding the ball into an empty net.
