A DRINK-driver caught out behind the wheel of a Maserati in Hereford has been taken off the roads and fined hundreds.

Nicholas Weaver entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford earlier this month, on May 1.

The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that the 36-year-old had been caught out in Hereford’s Beaufort Avenue after getting behind the wheel of a Maserati while over the drink-driving limit on March 8.

An evidential breath test revealed that he had 55 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 mg.

Weaver, of Beaufort Avenue, Hereford, was handed a 16-month driving ban and must pay a fine of £438.

He has the chance to complete a drink-drive awareness course by March 2025 to reduce his ban by 16 weeks.

Represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Chris Read, Weaver was ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £175 victim surcharge.
