A DRUG-driver caught out while over three times the limit in Hereford has been banned from the roads.

Dominic Brand entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the drug limit when appearing before magistrates in Hereford earlier this month.

The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that Brand had been caught out in Hereford’s Moreland Avenue after getting behind the wheel of a Ford Focus while over the drug-driving limit on December 6 last year.

An evidential blood test revealed that Brand had 6.2 microgrammes (mg) of class B controlled drug cannabis product delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is two mg.

Brand, of Moreland Avenue, Hereford, was fined £300 and disqualified from driving for 12 months for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken the guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.

The 34-year-old was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85.
