IT would be churlish to challenge Jesse Norman’s record as a constituency MP but it is disingenuous of him to distance himself from an increasingly toxic Conservative government.
Mr Norman was first elected as a Conservative MP in 2010, has supported and served in Conservative governments for the last 14 years, and will represent the Conservatives at the next general election.

If, as his letter published in the Hereford Times on May 2 implies, Mr Norman wishes to rise above the labels of party politics then he should consider resigning the Conservative whip and standing as an independent.
