The Wildcat is an aircraft operated from the frigates and destroyers of the Royal Navy and are said to "provide immense firepower and a wide range of advancements".
They have state-of-threat sensors, equipment and weapons, and tackle a range of threats like maritime lift tasks, search and rescue and more.
These helicopters are also used to fly Royal Navy troops into action during evacuation operations.
The Hereford Times has approached the Royal Navy for information on why the helicopter was travelling over Hereford, and the purpose of this flight.
According to Flight Radar, this particular helicopter took off from a location in Yorkshire at 2.17pm and headed south.
