A TEENAGE driver has been banned from the roads after he was caught drink-driving on a Herefordshire lane.

James Wright entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford this month.

The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that the 18-year-old had been caught out in Pentre Lane in Bredwardine after getting behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Fox while over the limit on October 1 last year.

A breath test revealed that he had 63 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

He has the opportunity to reduce his ban by 12 weeks if he completes a drink-driving awareness course by November.
