A HOMELESS man stole three bottles of whiskey from a Herefordshire supermarket.

The theft took place on September 7 last year, with the three bottles of whiskey taken from Aldi in Leominster, according to prosecutor Lauren Millichip.

Chris Murphy, 33 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of theft from a shop at a hearing at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on April 3. He was represented in court by defence solicitor Andrew Cleal.

The brand and value of the whiskey was not specified.

He was ordered to pay compensation to Aldi of £53.97, a fine of £100 and prosecution costs of £135.
