AN ATTACKER has been up before the magistrates after assaulting an emergency worker in an incident.

Daniel Netley entered a guilty plea to one count of assault by beating of an emergency worker when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster this month.

The court heard from prosecutor Owen Beale that the 33-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Ian Parsons, had assaulted an emergency worker, namely a police officer, who was acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker, in Ross-on-Wye on January 1.

Magistrates said that a discount to the penalty would be applied as Netley had entered a guilty plea.
