OVER the weekend, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue crews have been called to several incidents across the county involving animal rescues.

On Thursday, March 28, the animal rescue crew and water first responder crews from Bromyard Fire Station were called to rescue a sheep from water in Hampton Dene Road in Hereford.

After arriving, the "large" sheep was moved to higher ground by the rescue crew and was no longer in danger.

A fire and rescue crew from Whitchurch Fire Station were called shortly after midday on Friday, March 29, to the rescue of a small deer in Whitchurch.

The deer had become trapped in a barbed wire fence.

The deer was released by crews upon their arrival and after being checked by a vet the incident was closed.

On Sunday, March 31, a Fire and Rescue crew from Ross-on-Wye were called after a dog had become stuck in a lift in Gloucester Road, Ross-on-Wye.

However, the dog was rescued before the arrival of the fire and rescue crew.
