FRAUDSTERS have been targeting elderly people in Ross-on-Wye.

West Mercia Police say they are investigating a fraud-related offence, where fraudsters posing as employees of the Financial Conduct Authority have made contact with the victim by phone.

"They have convinced the victim to transfer significant amounts of money into another account using fake invoices for building and cleaning companies," said a spokesperson.

In light of this, the police are asking people to be extra vigilant and to share what has been happening with family members, friends, elderly or vulnerable neighbours.
