The spokesperson said the closure is due to "treacherous road conditions in and around the village due to flood water".

"We are expecting heavy rain throughout the day and water levels to rise," the spokesperson said.

Several roads in the Bromyard area are under water this morning, with large areas of flooding on the A465 between Bromyard and Stoke Lacy, while the A44 is also reported to have areas of flooding near Bredenbury.

Various other roads in the county are also very wet this morning, although no official closures have yet been reported by Herefordshire Council.

Flood alerts are in force for rivers across Herefordshire.
