A YOUNG farmer from Herefordshire "couldn't believe it" when he was told he had won a huge cash prize.

Bromyard farmer Fraser Hawkins scooped the £60,000 cash prize courtesy of online competition specialist BOTB.

He had been feeding the cows when he received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams telling him the ‘udderly’ amazing news.

“I couldn’t believe it when Christian told me I had won. It was the best day ever!” the Daily Draws Competition winner said.

“I enter the competitions now and again and thought I would give it a go. I’m delighted it has paid off.

“I think I’ll be celebrating for a few weeks.

“My brothers always wind me up about entering the competitions, but now the joke is on them and they are very jealous.”

The 29-year-old is planning to use some of his cash prize to buy his own house.

“We rent our farm from the National Trust and I have been trying to save up for my own property. Hopefully, this money will go a long way to achieving that,” he said.

“I need to be sensible with most of it, but I will probably treat myself to a holiday. I would love to go to the Alps in the summer.”

Mr Hawkins currently runs the 520-acre, mixed Warren Farm with his mum and dad.

“My three older brothers are off doing other things, so when my mum and dad decide to retire I would like to take control of the farm,” he added.

Presenter Christian said: “I grew up on a farm mucking out pigs and helping my dad so I know exactly how much work goes into farming.

“It’s a tough industry to be in, but hopefully winning this fantastic cash prize will make things a bit easier for Fraser and his family.

“I’m sure Fraser will be rubbing his brother's faces in it now that he has won.”

BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.

Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, it has given away £64m-worth of cars so far.
