MORE details have been revealed about a Hereford pub’s upcoming revamp.

The Plough Inn in Whitecross Road is set to be majorly refurbished both inside and outside as part of a new bid by Star Pubs & Bars, the UK pub arm of Heineken, to transform the watering hole into ‘Hereford’s best pub experience’.

A spokesperson for Star Pubs & Bars said that the pub’s decor will centre around the theme of ‘cider heritage’, with plans for a range of locally-produced ciders to be on offer.

Alongside cider, the Plough will serve up a range of spirits, wines and all of its own beverages. It has also been recognised that Hereford’s rich beer-making tradition means there is also great potential for local craft and guest ales to be stocked.

The bar, stage and pool areas of the ground floor will likely be unrecognisable after the transformation, with new TV’s, furniture, lighting, wall panelling, timber boarding, floor tiling, cider-themed wall coverings and more expected to be installed.

Additionally, the first floor is set to be converted into a meeting room with a kitchenette, and the beer garden will be remodelled to incorporate a skittle alley.

A spokesperson for Star Pubs & Bars said: “The new-look premises will stand head and shoulders above the Plough’s local rivals.

“In addition to its new cider heritage theme, the bar is perfectly positioned to deliver an exciting mix of live music, quizzes, pool, darts and skittles.

“All that’s missing is a charismatic licensee with the ambition to establish The Plough as Hereford’s best pub experience.”
