HEREFORD Medical Group (HMG) has increased its maximum capacity for patients waiting in the queue when calling the surgery. 

A call-back system is in place which remembers your place in the queue and will call you back automatically once you have reached the front.

"Don't worry if you miss the first call back, as a second attempt will be made to call you," said a spokesperson for HMG.

HMG is advising people to continue to submit the secure online form via its website for routine or non-urgent problems and only to call if the request for an appointment is an urgent, on-the-day matter.

This includes a urine infection, chest infection, throat infection, ear infection, new swelling in leg/s, bleeding in pregnancy, fever in children, or or new severe abdominal pain.
