WITH an election looming, I wondered how long it would be before one of the local Tory MPs came up with a carrot for the electorate, telling the people what they want to hear about a bypass (Bypass new funding hope, January 18) .

I do wonder sometimes how much time and certainly column inches have been wasted on talking about the prospect of a bypass for Hereford.
Here we see yet another carrot, with MP Sir Bill Wiggin “highlighting the importance of a bypass”.
When will people realise they have been flogging a dead horse for years? It’s been heated debate for decades, often bandied about around election times but obviously not hot enough to actually result in any realistic outcome.
