CHRISTMAS is approaching and the time to get a tree will soon be here, if not already for some, and Herefordshire has many places to buy one.

Here's a list of where you can buy a Christmas tree in Herefordshire this year:

Hereford Christmas Trees

At Hereford Christmas Trees, in Grafton Lane, Hereford, you can choose from trees including Norway spruce, blue spruce, Nordmann Fir and Fraser fir.

Since taking over the site in November 2018, the new owners have replanted more than 2,000 new trees and pruned and treated the 10,000 they took on.

Fresh trees are cut every morning before they open at 10am, with the site open daily until 6pm between Saturday, November 25, and Friday, December 22.

Radway Bridge Garden Centre

Stocking fresh-cut and living trees. Varieties include Nordmann firs and Fraser Firs, with prices held from 2022.

Radway Bridge has a selection of artificial Christmas trees, including pre-decorated and pre-lit trees.

They also offer a vast selection of Christmas lights and Christmas while Santa and his elves will be onsite at the Christmas Grotto every weekend from December 2 to 23 (by appointment only).

Open Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm and Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Oakchurch Farm Shop

Oakchurch, in Staunton on Wye, have freshly cut and locally grown Christmas trees, with a free baby potted tree for you to plant in your garden with every cut Christmas tree.

Open seven days a week with free parking.

The Happy Xmas Trees

The Happy Xmas Trees, in Fownhope, is a family-run business with a wide selection of Nordmann firs to choose from this Christmas.

They can be collected from The Shop at Coo Corner in Fownhope.

Dinmore Christmas Trees

Dinmore Hill Christmas Trees, in Wellington, has been growing Christmas trees in Herefordshire for more than 25 years and has two sites.

Festive Farm in Wellington (follow the signs) opened for the season on November 11 and will be open every weekend from 9am to 4pm.

The Dinmore Hill site, accessed from the A49 lay-by at the bottom of the hill south of Queenswood Country park, is open seven days a week, from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.

Coddington Christmas Trees

Choose your tree while it's in the ground or from recently cut stock at this site.

The site is open from 9am to 4pm (or dusk) for the purchase of trees from the plantation or the yard until December 17. Staff are available for the choose and cut service on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but please ring 01531 633 500 or 07906 964 702 to check staff availability from Monday to Thursday,

At Ross Garden Store, in Ross-on-Wye, you can pick from a selection of trees and have them cut and delivered.

You can have them cut from sustainable managed tree plantations and top-quality stock or visit the store and choose your own.

You will also find a Christmas shop offering an array of decorations.

Open Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm, and Sunday from 10am to 4.30pm.

Madley Plants

Madley Plants, in Madley, has potted non-drop, Nordmann fir and Norway spruce in four different sizes with a variety of homemade festive wreaths available too.

They also offer cut Nordmann firs ranging from 120cm to 270cm in height, with stands also on offer.

Pomona Farm, in Bartestree, is open for the first three weekends of December, on December 2 and 3, 9 and 10, and 16 and 17 from 9am to 4pm.

This traditional Christmas tree farm in Brilley offers a huge variety of planted, pot-grown, and freshly-cut trees in all sizes as well as foliage for wreaths and tree stands.

Varieties grown include Norway spruce, Nordmann fir, and Noble fir. 

The farm, signposted from the A438, is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9am to 4pm, with the last day of trading December 22.

Cowarne Christmas Trees

Home-grown Nordmann fir and Norway and blue spruce available in all shapes and sizes, with wreaths and potted trees also on sale. 

The site at Bridge End Farm, Much Cowarne, is open from the last week of November (9am to 5pm Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 6pm Friday to Saturday) and will be trading every weekend from the last weekend of November at the Conquest Theatre in Bromyard (9am to 5pm Saturdays and 9am to 3pm Sundays).

Temple Court Christmas Trees

Selling cut trees and potted trees in a range of sizes, the site is open from 10am to 5pm on Friday, 10am to 5pm on Saturday, and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

Varieties on offer are Nordmann fir, Norway spruce, Serbian spruce, blue spruce, and Korean fir.
