A HEREFORD couple got to meet county singer Ellie Goulding at a recent concert.

Jade Chamberlain and Sean Mullen bought the VIP Experience at the O2 Institute Birmingham.

As well as getting to meet the star, they also got to watch part of the soundcheck and receive a limited edition lithograph and a lanyard.

"We got early entry before anyone else so had a good spot to watch at the very front," said Miss Chamberlain.

"We absolutely enjoyed the whole experience, and for me watching the soundcheck was very interesting. The concert was excellent and meeting Ellie for a photograph opportunity topped the whole VIP experience off.

"I've always wanted to meet her for a few years now as her song, 'how long will I love you' is a very heartfelt song for me.

"She was really down to earth to meet and greeted us with a big smile. She sang some of her songs from her new album Higher Than Heaven.

"Ellie has such a really good distinctive voice. I can't wait for her to do some more tours in the future and will certainly be there to see her.

"We would like to thank Ellie and wish her all the best for the future."

The Birmingham concert on October 23 was the penultimate UK date in the Higher than Heaven tour.

The Lyonshall-born singer, who went to Lady Hawkins' School, will be performing in Milan tonight (November 2) before ending the tour in Cologne and Berlin respectively.

Higher than Heaven is Ellie's fifth studio album, and her first in three years.

It has been a great year for the 36-year-old, with 'Miracle' - her collaboration with Calvin Harris - topping the UK singles charts for eight non-consecutive weeks.
