Strictly's Hamza Yassin to switch on Hay's Christmas lights

Hamza Yassin will be in the town from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, November 24, with the switch on taking place at 6.30pm.

The wildlife presenter - who will be joined on stage by Hay-'s soon-to-be-announced Citizen of the Year - is making an appearance as part of the Hay Festival's Winter Festival weekend.

“I’m honoured to bring some added sparkle to Hay Festival Winter Weekend, switching on the town’s Christmas lights as part of my upcoming visit," said Hamza.

"In times like these, community and connection feel more important than ever. It will be my first trip to the Town of Books and I’m looking forward to meeting readers and fellow wildlife lovers there, on stage and off, and marking the season’s change with hope and joy.”

Food and drink will be supplied by Gibbons Hog Roast, Origin Pizza, MacMan, Trigg Food, Happy Dumplings 365, El Coffee Shack, Artistraw Mulled Cider, Lucky 7 Brewery, Tudor Brewery, Korolov Juices and Zoe Bakes.
