THOUSANDS of free tickets for a family event are up for grabs for local children.

Winter Glow, one of the largest Christmas events in the Three Counties area, is giving away up to 10,000 free tickets to primary school children in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Gloucestershire this festive season.

Winners will be able to choose to attend either the Christmas light trail or ice-skating experience completely free of charge.

Winter Glow’s outdoor light trail, one of the longest in the West Midlands, was created by local creative artists and lighting designers with an extensive background in theatre production and is themed around the North Pole.

The skating rink, which is also one of the largest in the region, is surrounded by giant snowflakes and Christmas decorations.

The tickets will be valid from Wednesday, December 27 to Saturday, January 6.

The number of tickets available will be based on demand and randomly allocated to school classes via a ballot. To be entered into the draw to win free tickets, head teachers must register their school directly with Winter Glow by Friday, September 29.

Chris Gage, senior manager at Winter Glow, said: “Christmas holds a special place in our hearts, as it's a time for families to come together and create cherished memories.

“As a family-run business, we understand that this year has brought about significant financial challenges for many families, with the rising cost of living making things even tougher.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer thousands of children the opportunity to attend Winter Glow at absolutely no cost to allow even more children to enjoy the magic of Christmas. We can’t wait to welcome everyone.”
