I CANNOT believe what a load of rubbish I have just read in the Hereford Times written by Peter Skipworth about John Price (Climate deniers are deluded in defending John Price).

I think he is another person who knows nothing about farming life or the countryside.

Mr Price, like him or not, is a very good farmer and has earned every penny he has with hard work and a good team.

Mr Skipworth condemns what Mr Price has done but then says “rivers in this country are in a parlous state”. Mr Price did what he did to improve the flow of the river Lugg as he saw it.

The Environment Agency seems to have little knowledge about how our rivers “work”.

ALSO READ:

Do not dredge the rivers? Why? Surely a build up of silt causes many problems for fish, especially during breeding times, and other wildlife at all times. Trees, branches, leaves and other debris clog up the waterway and causes flooding too.

Pollution obviously comes in to the question of why there are so few salmon and trout in the Wye but dredging is also important.

The Environment Agency and the judge who listened to the wrong people should changes places with Mr Price.
