A CAT has been saved after it was dumped in a cat carrier near Hereford as temperatures plummeted this week.
The 10 year-old cat was found in Peterchurch on Tuesday (March 7) at around 6.30pm in a cat carrier in a wooded area with just a blanket inside.
RSPCA inspector Suzi Smith said: “This poor cat was just left on her own. She has a bit of a skin condition but no other health issues. She is now safe in the care of the RSPCA Herefordshire Branch.”
The animal welfare charity is calling on anyone with any information about this abandoned cat to contact the inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
“Sadly, more and more people are abandoning their animals and it could be down to a number of reasons, for example when owners are unable to cope, whether that be with an animal’s behaviour, the costs of keeping the pet or other things in their life take over they opt to dump them," Suzi said.

“But there is never an excuse to abandon an animal - she must have been so frightened and cold. If anyone can help us with enquiries to find her owner please get in touch.”
