A HEREFORD man who let his tag's battery run out has been ordered to pay compensation after damaging a police vehicle cage cell.
Shane Pickersgill appeared before magistrates in Hereford for sentencing after admitting one count of criminal damage and one breach of bail conditions at an earlier hearing.
A charge of harassment by breach of a restraining order was dismissed as no evidence was offered.

The court heard from prosecutor Paul John that the 30-year-old had intentionally or recklessly damaged a police vehicle cage cell belonging to West Mercia Police without lawful excuse in Hereford on January 29.
He had also breached a bail condition on February 9 by allowing an electronic tag he had been ordered to wear by a court to run out of battery after having been released on bail by magistrates in Kidderminster on January 31.
Pickersgill, of Brampton Road, Ross-on-Wye, was ordered to pay compensation of £200 to West Mercia Police, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account.
No order for prosecution costs was made.
