HEREFORDSHIRE Council has issued an update on bin collections this morning after the county was covered with a blanket of snow overnight and through the morning.

Two weather warnings are currently in force for the county for snow and snow and ice, with more snow continuing to fall.

A number of roads have also been hit by the weather, while schools across Herefordshire are closed.

A spokesperson for the council said that waste and recycling crews are out this morning and will attempt collections where safe to do so.

"If your collection is due on Thursday, March 9, please ensure you have put it out," the spokesperson said.

"If it was not completed please leave it out for collection."

The council confirmed that return collections will be attempted on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11 dependent on the ongoing weather conditions.
