FOOD and drink festival organisers in a Herefordshire market town are delighted with this year's visitor turnout.

Kington Winter Food and Drink Festival organisers believe more than 2,000 people came to the event making it one of the biggest amount of visitors to attend the festival over its 18 years.

The turnout bought festive cheer to the five venues and shops in the town when it was held on Small Business Saturday on December 3.

One of the organisers Pam Peek said: "Over 2,000 attended and the 100 exhibitors were delighted and many have already booked for next year.

"This presented a wonderful Christmas atmosphere and proved to be a showcase for Kington. I would like to thank visitors, stallholders and the event sponsors for their support."

The popular event, attracted food and drink lovers from all over the midlands, Wales and the Marches.

No other food festival in Herefordshire and the borders has the capacity to put on such an event free of charge, she said.
