A HEREFORDSHIRE pub has been blown away after "royalty" from a hit BBC One show walked in.

The New Harp Inn in Hoarwithy, near Ross-on-Wye, said the EastEnders star was a "lovely, polite and down-to-earth person".

The pub boasts good quality food, beers, ciders, real ales and wines, and was surprised when the star walked through the door on Sunday (October 30).

After a major refurbishment, the team said it looks forward to welcoming punters to its warm, rustic, country pub nestled in the village.

One of those punters was London-born Jessica Plumber, the actress who played Chantelle Atkins in the BBC One soap EastEnders.

Posting a picture to social media, the pub said it was "blown away" and added: "We’d like to share with you our cherished photo with Jessica Plumber – Chantelle.

"Thanks so much for visiting us and its made our day. You just never know who’s coming through our door next."

Jessica Plummer was pictured with chef Nick Jones and managers Jason and Joanne Hardman.

From 2013 to 2015, Plummer was a member of the British girl group Neon Jungle, with whom she released an album that peaked at number eight on the UK Albums Chart.

After a stint in Eastenders, Plummer then appeared as Emma in the BBC drama series The Girl Before.

She was nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for that role.

Plummer also appeared in the 20th series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here in 2020.
