A HEREFORDSHIRE bed and breakfast hotel put the county on the map when it featured on a popular Channel 4 programme.

Luke Conod owner of the Swan Inn, in Letton, and his best friend Heather Gorringe starred in Four in a Bed.

The programme involves B&B owners, who take turns to stay with one another and pay what they consider fair for their stay after giving feedback.

The winner is the establishment named the best value for money.

The pair featured in the third of the series that week on Wednesday, October 5.

RELATED NEWS:

The pub offers five rooms for £125 a night each, including a continental breakfast with items from Herefordshire, which guests said was high quality.

The property is a 400-year-old coaching inn, and he took it over last April in 2021.

Guests said the rooms were bright, serene, calming, nice colours, and newly renovated.

One pair of guests said everything look expensive and brand new.

Others commented on how clean it was and its fresh white bedding.

But the road outside the pub, which is the A438, was creating noise for them, while others commented on the position of some of the interior items.

OTHER NEWS:

Hereford, which is less than 20 miles away from the pub, made an appearance.

The guests were taken for a tour in Hereford Cathedral to see the Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library.

In the feedback forms guests said the pair were “great hosts” and gave them a 10 out of 10.

It was spotlessly clean and looked brand new, said guests.

Although, one guest said the rooms had a “nice feel”, they felt there was a lack of coherent design.

But all sections on the feedback form were given a score between seven and 10, and all except one said they would stay there again.

All paid the full amount the stays were worth, except one who paid £10 under due to their being a lack of cotton bedding, leaving them with a final bill average of 97 per cent.

This left them in fourth place, out of four.
